PLEASURE SHOTS
I heard a statistic lately that among the top five most pleasurable flavors to the tongue is the chocolate, peanut butter combination.
That is certainly true for me.
Gonna have to say number one.
There are lots of protein ball recipes floating around. We have several favorites at our house. Some use protein powders, some rely on the nut butters and flours to provide the protein.
We like a combination of both.
Here’s our instant go-to when we need (and I mean, “need”) a break from the every day disciplines by which we usually abide.
The basic ingredients total only five.
You can add various nuts or dried berries to your liking. We double or triple the recipe almost every time. We say we’re going to gift someone with a few and we do, and then sometimes we eat them all ourselves. Just sayin.
To your pleasure…
WHAT YOU NEED:
2 cups Quick 3 minute steel cut oats
1 cup peanut butter
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup mini dark chocolate chips
2 cups shredded coconut
ADD TO THE PLEASURE:
dried cherries
craisins
raisins
chia seeds
flaxseeds
WHAT YOU DO:
Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir rigorously with a large wooden spoon.
It’s gonna take some muscle and a pinch of self-discipline cuz you’re gonna wanna eat the batter before you roll them into balls.
I put the dough (it’s not really dough) in the fridge for an hour or so, or even overnight,
and then roll into bite size pleasure shots the
next day.
So yummy.
Hits the spot just right.
